I have bought and sold houses for myself for over twenty years. Some I kept as rental property and others I resold after rehabbing them. Through this “hands on” process I have gained vast knowledge of not only what to look for when buying a house but also what it takes to prepare a property to be sold. To go along with my rehabbing experience I carried mail in the community for over twenty-nine years so I can honestly say that I have been on every porch in town! Putting these two things together it was a natural fit for me to become a realtor. Through my experience, knowledge, integrity and honesty I believe that I have the tools that you will need to help you enjoy buying or selling your home.
I’ve been in the real estate business for approximately 10 years, receiving my license while still working as Vice President of a local bank. My banking experience has been extensive, as I was a Manager for Bank of America in California before moving back to Kansas in 1975. I have knowledge of all phases of buying and selling real estate, as well as financing. My daughter and I opened a tax preparation business in Atchison in 2002, which we just recently sold last year. I am now retired and concentrate on selling real estate. I am married with one daughter and two beautiful grandchildren, who are the love of my life.
Having raised two daughters and being married for 33 years, I have learned to deal with “the public”. Following my husband’s career has sent us many places in Kansas to meet different people! I also volunteer every year for our Amelia Earhart Festival by being the chairperson for the fireworks display. (Hence my nickname, “Boom Boom”). I have learned that everyone wants to be treated with the same respect and fairness that I would want. While working with farmers at the Farm Services Agency, to helping my father with auctions & bail bonds, to selling real estate, it all takes respect and fairness.
